Behrouz Kamalian was born in 1983 and is a software engineer.

Human rights violations (in chronological order):

As the director of the Ashiyane Security Group, (part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ hacker unit known as the “Iranian Cyber Army”) Behrouz Kamalian has used his position to expose protesters in 2009 and has led cyber attacks against domestic and foreign reformists, news media outlets, and Twitter, to hack and censor opposition.

  • E.U. Sanctions

On 10 October 2011, the European Union published the names of 29 officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Behrouz Kamalian, whom the E.U. asserts are “responsible for serious human rights violations” and is thus subjecting to travel bans and asset freezes.[1]
