Justice for Iran (JFI) has learnt that  the two Ahwazi Arab activists, Hadi Rashedi and Hashem Shabani have been executed. They were the co-founder of Al-Hiwar, a cultural institute which aimed promoting Arabic language.
Iranian intelligence ministry offcials have informed the families of the prisoners that the executions were carried out four days ago. However, Ahwazi activists believe that Hadi Rashedi and Hashem Shabani were executed immediately after their transfer from Karoun prison of Ahwaz about two months ago.
Justice for Iran in its report, “Seeking Rights to Cultural Identity” provided a comprehensive look at the political and cultural conditions in the southwest region of Iran, with focus on the deplorable situation of Arab activists and their efforts to preserve their culture and native language. Using witness testimonies and official sources, cases of Al-Hiwar activists who have been abused, killed by IRI authorities, or on death row in Iranian prisons are detailed.
