Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei: Security agencies will deal with protests and gatherings

Iran’s Judiciary spokesman, Gholam Hosssein Mohseni Eje’i, warned that security forces will “resolutely confront” Iran Protests and demanded that families control their loved ones during a press conference on 27 May 2018.

He is the Prosecutor General of Iran since September 2009 and spokesman of the Judiciary. While he was Intelligence minister during the election in 2009, intelligence agents under his command were responsible for detention, torture and extraction of false confessions under pressure from hundreds of activists, journalists, dissidents, and reformist politicians. In addition, political figures were coerced into making false confessions under unbearable interrogations, which included torture, abuse, blackmail, and the threatening of family members.

On 13 April 2011, the European Union published the names of 32 officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Mohseni Eje’i, whom the E.U. asserts are “responsible for serious human rights violations” and are thus subjecting to travel bans and asset freezes.
