Mohammad-Bagher Bagheri
Human rights violations:
Vice-chairman of the judiciary administration of South Khorasan province, in charge of crime prevention.
In addition to his acknowledging, in June 2011, 140 executions for capital offences between March 2010 and March 2011, about 100 other executions are reported to have taken place in the same period and in the same province of South Khorasan without either the families or the lawyers being notified. He is, therefore, complicit in a grave violation of the right to due process, contributing to the excessive and increasing use of the death penalty.
On 10 October 2011, the European Union published the names of 29 officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran including Mohammad-Bagher Bagheri whom the E.U. asserts are “responsible for serious human rights violations” and is thus subject to travel bans and asset freezes.[1] [1] EU Council statement  on 10 October 2011
