Biography:

Mojtaba Maleki was born in Kouhdasht, Lorestan Province, Iran.

Positions:

  • Head of Branch 17 of Khorramabad Public and Revolutionary Courts
  • Justice at the First Session of the Kermanshah Dispute Resolution Council
  • Public and Revolutionary Court Prosecutor in Kermanshah from 2007 to 2016
  • Deputy Attorney General of Khorasan Razavi Province from December 2016 until present

Human rights violations (in chronological order):

As Prosecutor in Kermanshah, Mojtaba Maleki was responsible for a dramatic increase in death sentences, including seven hangings in one day on 3 January 2010, in Kermanshah’s central prison, following Judge Maleki’s indictments.

  • E.U. Sanctions

On 10 October 2011, the European Union published the names of 29 officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Mojtaba Maleki, whom the E.U. asserts are “responsible for serious human rights violations” and is thus subjecting to travel bans and asset freezes.[1]
