On November 21st, Justice for Iran’s Shadi Sadr joined the post screening panel discussion of the film ‘Born in Evin’ at IDFA film festival in Amsterdam. The documentary follows filmmaker and actress, Maryam Zaree, on her quest to find out the violent circumstances surrounding her birth inside one of the most notorious political prisons in the world. The result is a personal look at a traumatic national history that generally remains unspoken. Born in Evin also touches on themes such as working through trauma and the psychological suffering of second-generation survivors.
